Convenient snacking has become a popular choice for replacing traditional mealtimes, with nearly half of global consumers consuming over two snacks a day, according to a report from HealthFocus International. As consumer eating habits shift, food manufacturers are focusing on including healthier ingredients in snacks. The report found that people now approach snacks with the same scrutiny as their meal choices, preferring healthier options even in indulgent categories.

Younger consumers particularly believe that eating multiple Healthy snacks a day is just as nutritious, or sometimes even better, than sticking to three meals a day. This changing sentiment has led to an increased demand for healthier snack options that fill the need for convenient and nutritious food choices.

The report also highlighted the trend of integrating fruits and vegetables into popular snacks, with brands like Cheerios Veggie Blends, Once Upon a Farm, and Cerebelly incorporating ingredients like fruits and vegetables into their products. Clean label products are also gaining popularity across various categories, with more consumers seeking wholesome ingredients, botanical extracts, and plant-based innovations in their food choices.

In response to these evolving consumer preferences, food manufacturers and suppliers are placing an emphasis on clean-label and better-for-you ingredients to cater to the changing market demands.
