Mars introduced new products at the 2024 National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS) Show Expo in Las Vegas.
Research from the company shows that a majority of Americans (93%) are within 10 minutes of a convenience store, and 71% of adult consumers discover new products and brands at these stores. Mars understands that c-store shoppers are adventurous with their purchases, making variety essential for success in this space. The latest innovations and offerings from Mars Wrigley aim to drive category growth and offer new options to consumers.
“At Mars, our focus on consumers has led to a century of success. We recognize that convenience stores are integral to people’s communities and routines. To engage with core consumers and attract new audiences, we are exploring new formats and textures with our iconic brands to spark interest and excitement. In addition to product innovation, we collaborate with our customers to enhance shopper engagement through partnerships like those with our Transaction Zone and Foodservices teams.”
— Tim LeBel, president of sales, Mars Wrigley North America
The transaction zone is a crucial part of each convenience store. With less than three minutes to influence shoppers, retailers need to evolve their store formats to maximize in-store trips, focusing on layout, experience, and assortment to appeal to shoppers. Mars highlighted the Transaction Zone team at the NACS event this year, showcasing their PayPoint Optimizer technology, which optimizes checkout configuration using a store’s transaction history.
The Transaction Zone team, launched in 2022, acts as consultants, working with retailers to design layouts that attract new shoppers, enhance impulse purchases, and improve checkout experiences to drive category growth.
Mars Foodservices creates excitement with unique menu offerings that leverage Mars Wrigley’s iconic brands like M&M’S® Minis, SNICKERS®, and TWIX®. By collaborating with menu developers, Foodservices brings culinary expertise to enhance offerings. Whether added to cookies, brownies, cakes, frozen yogurt, or shakes, the team delivers brand power, differentiation, and excitement with unique flavor innovations.
At the NACS event, Mars unveiled new products that meet consumers’ demand for a wider variety of products and formats with new textures. Attendees had the opportunity to taste the following treats:
– M&M’S® PEANUT BUTTER & JELLY: Berry flavored bite-sized chocolate treats with a smooth peanut butter center.
