Jolly Rancher, known for its hard candies, is expanding its product line to include gummies for the first time in its 75-year history. The Hershey-owned brand is launching Jolly Rancher Ropes in two flavors: Green Apple + Watermelon and Blue Raspberry + Cherry. These new gummies are available in 6-ounce and 10-ounce bags at retailers nationwide and online. This move is part of Hershey’s strategy to increase its gummy offerings in response to the growing popularity of gummy candies among younger consumers. The gummy candy market is projected to reach $750 million by 2032, up from $495 million this year. In addition to Jolly Rancher Ropes, Hershey has introduced gummies in partnership with Shaquille O’Neal and launched Awesome Reds, a sour gummy mix.
Meanwhile, J.M. Smucker has introduced a new flavor of its popular Uncrustables sandwiches just in time for back-to-school season. The Peanut Butter & Raspberry Spread Sandwiches are the first new flavor in a decade for the iconic PB&J brand. Chris Achenbach, Smucker’s marketing director, stated that the new flavor aligns with the brand’s focus on providing convenient and delicious meal options for families. Uncrustables, originally launched in 1995, has become a staple in school lunches and offers a variety of sandwich options including grape, strawberry, honey, and chocolate-flavored hazelnut. The brand has also expanded its product line to include frozen bites and cheese bites for school lunches. Smucker envisions Uncrustables becoming a $1 billion brand in the future.
