Israeli forces have expanded their raids into northern Gaza, with tanks reaching the north edge of Gaza City and targeting districts in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, displacing many families from their homes, according to residents.
Residents noted that Israeli forces have effectively isolated Beit Hanoun, Jabalia, and Beit Lahiya in the far north of the enclave from Gaza City, restricting access between the areas unless families comply with evacuation orders.
After nine days of a major Israeli operation in northern Gaza, the Hamas-run Gaza government media office reported that around 300 Palestinians have been killed in the region.
The Gaza Health Ministry states that numerous deaths have been confirmed in northern Gaza, and many others are feared dead under rubble, beyond the reach of medical teams.

Northern Gaza, which is home to a significant portion of the territory’s population, faced significant destruction in the initial phase of Israel’s assault a year ago following the Oct. 7 incursion.

The armed groups of Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and other factions have engaged in conflicts with Israeli forces, using anti-tank rockets and mortar fire.
United Nations officials have raised concerns over the severe shortages of essential supplies in northern Gaza and the risk of famine in the region.
