Fresh Del Monte Welcomes New Leader to Ingredient Team
Fresh Del Monte Produce Inc., a vertically integrated producer, marketer, and distributor of high-quality fresh and fresh-cut fruits and vegetables, has appointed Dr. Imad Farhat as senior vice president, specialty ingredients. Dr. Farhat will lead the company’s efforts to develop innovative ingredients, sourced from Fresh Del Monte’s portfolio and other agricultural products.

Dr. Farhat’s focus will be on creating nature-derived ingredients that support Fresh Del Monte’s mission of providing healthful products to consumers globally. By sourcing directly from nature, the company is committed to promoting a sustainable relationship between people, the products they consume, and the environment.
With his industry experience, Dr. Farhat will develop a product portfolio based on the principles of a circular economy, using residuals from Fresh Del Monte’s operations to minimize waste and maximize natural resources. His goal is to meet the growing consumer demand for wholesome, nature-based products that align with health-conscious choices.
Prior to joining Fresh Del Monte, Dr. Farhat spent nearly two decades at dsm-firmenich, where he held key roles in taste innovation. He also served as an associate professor at the University of Nottingham in the UK, with extensive experience in food physical chemistry and a strong patent portfolio in food science.
Emil Kovács graduated from the Journalism program at Eötvös Loránd University in Hungary. During his journalism studies, he focused on data journalism, investigative reporting, and multimedia storytelling. He gained experience by writing for the university’s student newspaper, where he gained attention for his articles on social issues. After graduation, Emil began working as a reporter at a European news agency, where he conducts in-depth analyses of international news and current events.
