Expanding Beverage and Creamer Offerings: Califia and Milkadamia Lead Plant-Based Innovations

Growing Line

Califia Farms, Los Angeles, has been expanding its product offerings in various directions. The year began with the introduction of a tea beverages line. Their new multi-serve, ready-to-drink 48oz Matcha Almond Latte is crafted with real matcha green tea powder and Califia’s almond milk. Additionally, Califia Farms recently unveiled a similar 48oz Chai Almond Latte made with real black tea, Califia almond milk, and a hint of cinnamon and cane sugar for the perfect sweetness.

“Due to the positive response to our Matcha Almond Latte, we have broadened our range of tea beverages with Chai Almond Latte to cater to the increasing popularity of chai tea lattes and the demand for convenient solutions for café favorites at home,” said Suzanne Ginestro, Califia’s chief marketing officer.

Furthermore, Califia expanded their Simple & Organic line with the introduction of Organic Vanilla Almondmilk. They also introduced a limited-edition 25.4oz Chocolate Strawberry Almond Creamer.

Organic Meets Artisan

Milkadamia, located in Burr Ridge, Ill., emphasized the importance of the “organic” claim for consumers, with 92% of premium buyers preferring organic plant-based milk. In response, the company launched its Organic Artisan line, sourcing macadamia nuts from organic farms.

The Organic Artisan Shelf-Stable line offers a home-crafted recipe using only the finest ingredients that maintain the creamy, elevated taste and texture unique to macadamia nuts. This line is ideal for consumption with coffee, smoothies, or in culinary creations, and features USDA Organic, plant-based, dairy-free, lactose-free, gluten-free, soy-free, cholesterol-free, and carrageenan-free products without gums, fillers, added flavors, or oils.

The Organic Artisan Shelf-Stable products are available nationwide at Whole foods Market and on Amazon for $41.99 per 6-pack. They will soon be available on ShareASale for affiliate needs.

Clean, Fortified

PLANTSTRONG Foods, based in Austin, Tex., enhanced their broad plant-based portfolio this spring with a line of four milks, including two favorites (Unsweetened Almond, Unsweetened Oat) and two new blends: Oat & Almond and Oat & Walnut, all of which are shelf-stable in 32oz containers.

“Most popular plant-based milks contain gums, oils, enzymes, emulsifiers, and refined sugar. PLANTSTRONG offers a much-needed, clean-label option in the non-dairy milk category that is packed with nutrition and exceptional taste,” stated PLANTSTRONG CEO and Founder Rip Esseltyn.

Cleaner Creamers

Malt Organics LLC, located in Austin, Tex., expanded its line with three new plant-based creamers: Vanilla Almond, Caramel Almond, and Lightly Sweetened Oat.

“Following recent funding and successful launches, we are excited to introduce cleaner creamers to the MALK family,” said MALK’s CEO Jason Bronstad. These creamers offer simple ingredients without sacrificing flavor, providing a rich, tasty addition to coffee, tea, or matcha.

MALK Creamers are now available nationwide in Sprouts, select Whole Foods, Erewhon, Fresh Thyme, and other retailers starting in mid-June, with a suggested retail price of $7.99 for a 16oz bottle.

Pistachio Milk Latte

Táche, located in Brooklyn, N.Y., recently unveiled the industry’s first ready-to-drink pistachio milk latte this spring.

The Táche Pistachio Milk Latte offers a balanced coffee and pistachio flavor with low sugar content and no added oils. It provides a healthier alternative to oat milk lattes and a more sustainable option compared to almond milk lattes. Táche worked with specialty coffee roasters for over two years to create a RTD product that delivers on flavor, quality, and consistency.

It is available for purchase online at www.pistachiomilk.com and is scheduled to be available in retail stores this year.

Cashew Creamers

Elmhurst Milked Direct, LLC (d.b.a. Elmhurst 1925), based in Elma, N.Y., introduced a line of dairy-free Cashew Creamers. These are the first plant-based creamers to utilize cashews as a base and are available in four varieties: Sweet Cream, Cinnamon Churro, Caramel Brûlée, and Unsweetened.

Elmhurst’s Cashew Creamers are available online at Elmhurst1925.com for $8.99 and will soon be stocked at Sprouts and other retailers.

“Many creamers contain unnecessary ingredients such as gums, oils, fillers, and high sugar. We wanted to provide consumers with the cleanest, creamiest, and most nutritious plant-based creamers for coffee,” said Elmhurst Senior Director of Brand Innovation Heba Mahmoud.
