A university in Istanbul recently organized a conference bringing together academics and activists to discuss various aspects of Israel’s ongoing war against Palestine.
The conference, titled “Palestine: The Linchpin of Civilization Renaissance,” is scheduled to run from Sunday to Tuesday. It will delve into Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, analyzing its regional and international implications, impacts, and future directions within the framework of Israel’s prolonged conflict with Palestine.
Distinguished scholars, specialists, and journalists like historian Ilan Pappe, John Quigley, journalist Pepe Escobar, and former U.S. intelligence officer Scott Ritter will participate in panel discussions at the event hosted by Istanbul’s Sabahattin Zaim University Center for Islam and Global Affairs (CIGA).
The conference will tackle various critical topics, including the moral and intellectual state of Western civilization, the role of Arab nations in the Gaza conflict, and the broader significance of Palestine and the Islamic world. Participants will also address the intellectual and civilizational clashes with the Zionist agenda, normalization in the Islamic world, and its ramifications on the Palestinian cause. Additionally, experts will examine the International Court of Justice (ICJ), the International Criminal Court (ICC), international law, and the current conditions in Israeli society amidst the ongoing Gaza war.
Despite a U.N. Security Council resolution urging an immediate cease-fire, Israel has persisted in its harsh offensive on the Gaza Strip since an attack by Hamas on October 7, resulting in numerous casualties. The Israeli aggression has created a humanitarian crisis, displacing a significant portion of the population and causing shortages of essential resources like food, water, and medicine. Israel currently faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its actions in Gaza.
