Coca-Cola has announced that it will be discontinuing its Spiced flavor after just seven months on the market. The company stated that it plans to phase out Coca-Cola Spiced to make way for a new flavor in 2025. While no specific reason was given for the decision, Coca-Cola mentioned that it is always evaluating customer preferences and adjusting its product range accordingly.
Spiced was intended to be Coca-Cola’s first permanent offering in over three years, featuring a combination of traditional Coke flavor with raspberry and “spiced” flavors. Despite efforts to appeal to consumers, the soda did not gain traction and will be removed from shelves.
This decision reflects Coca-Cola’s strategy to introduce new flavors to maintain consumer interest in soda. The company’s Creations platform, launched in 2022, aims to attract younger consumers by offering unique beverage experiences. With the discontinuation of Spiced, Coca-Cola is likely redirecting its resources towards other upcoming beverage launches.
In recent years, Coca-Cola has discontinued several brands, such as Coca-Cola Energy and Aha sparkling water, in order to focus on higher-growth opportunities. The company’s innovative approach with limited-time offerings like Coca-Cola Starlight and Coca-Cola Byte has proven successful in engaging consumers and driving interest in the original Coca-Cola brand.
