Chobani has announced the launch of a new line of high-protein Greek yogurt cups and drinks to meet the increasing demand for products rich in protein among consumers. The Chobani High Protein line includes cups with 20 grams of protein and drinks with varying protein levels, including 15, 20, and for the first time, 30 grams per serving. The company’s chief innovation officer, Niel Sandfort, emphasized the mainstream appeal of high-protein, low-sugar offerings and noted that Chobani’s new products provide a natural and tasty solution with a wide range of flavors and formats.
Studies have shown that more than half of consumers are looking to increase their protein intake while prioritizing low sugar in their diets. Chobani’s new High Protein line stands out for its all-natural ingredients, absence of added sugar, and lack of protein powders, concentrates, or preservatives. The company highlighted the combination of protein and vitamin B12 in the products for energy, satiety, and muscle health benefits.
The new Chobani High Protein products come in various flavors, including Strawberries and Cream, Vanilla, Tropical Punch, and Cookies and Cream. The yogurt cups are currently available in stores with nationwide distribution expected later this fall, while the drinks are set to launch in January. Chobani’s focus on expanding its yogurt business comes after previous forays into categories like oat milk, creamers, and cold brew coffee. The company aims to leverage its core expertise in yogurt with innovative offerings to cater to evolving consumer preferences.
