Campbell Soup CEO Mark Clouse has hinted at the possibility of splitting the company’s snacks business from its meals and beverages unit in the future, although he emphasized that any such decision is not imminent. The company has been focusing on expanding brands like Goldfish and Pepperidge Farm through acquisitions such as Snyder’s-Lance and Rao’s sauce maker Sovos Brands.

Recent successful spinoffs in the food industry, like Mondelēz International and Kellogg’s, have sparked interest in similar moves among executives. Analysts believe that a potential separation at Campbell Soup could lead to increased value for its portfolio of snacking brands. Snacks accounted for nearly half of the company’s net sales in the 2024 fiscal year.

Campbell Soup has raised its organic sales growth outlook and expects annual growth in snacks and meals and beverages. The company is prioritizing 16 “leadership brands” for growth, with Goldfish projected to become its largest brand by the 2027 fiscal year. In a symbolic move, Campbell Soup is considering changing its name to The Campbell’s Company to reflect its diverse product lineup.
