Marina Bellini has been appointed as the new president of Mars’ Global Business Services organization. With over 25 years of experience in tech and operations, Bellini joins Mars from her previous role as COO at Brazil-based bank Itaú Unibanco. Prior to that, she held tech-focused C-suite positions at PepsiCo, AB InBev, and BAT, focusing on digital transformation and data deployment.
Mars recently announced its plans to acquire snack maker Kellanova for $35.9 billion, marking the largest deal in the food and beverage sector in nearly a decade. Upon closure of the deal, Kellanova will become a part of Mars Snacking.
Bellini’s background includes leading digital transformation efforts at BAT, where she served as chief information and digital officer. Mars CFO Claus Aagaard praised her experience in driving high-impact change across global industries and expressed confidence in her ability to transform the GBS organization at Mars.
In addition to Mars’ strategic moves, other consumer goods companies like General Mills and Kraft Heinz are also ramping up their technology efforts this year with the rollout of internal generative AI tools to improve productivity and data analysis.
