Blake’s Hard Cider, a family-owned business with roots dating back to World War II, has seen remarkable growth in recent years. Founded by Andrew Blake, the third-generation farmer, the company has expanded its operations from a small family farm in Armada, Michigan to become a national cider producer with an expected revenue of $54 million in 2024 and upwards of $60 million in 2025.

The idea for Blake’s Hard Cider was born while Blake was a student at Michigan State University, where he saw the growing interest in craft beverages and the desire for brands with personality. In 2013, after years of research and development, Blake launched his first hard cider, Triple Jam, which quickly became a best-seller. The company now produces a variety of ciders, including the popular American Apple cider and Big Jam, an imperial cider variety.

In a strategic move, Blake’s acquired Avid Cider Company in 2022 and formed a partnership with Austin Eastciders, creating Blake’s Beverage Company, now the nation’s second largest cider operation. By bringing in experts from the industry, such as Ryan Burk, the company has been able to maintain the unique identity of each brand under its umbrella.

Despite its national reach, Blake’s Beverage Company remains grounded in its roots, with the family farm serving as the soul of the brand. With a focus on customer experience and innovation in flavor profiles, the company continues to grow and evolve, both in its alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage offerings.
